You can’t go back and change the beginning but you can start where you are and change the ending.

My specialties are:

Healing & recovery from substance use:

I have experience working with people that have turned to drugs or alcohol to cope with pain and the stress of life. I work with clients to address the reasons why they have turned to substances for relief so that they can be successful in long-term recovery.

Emotion Management/Emotional Regulation:

I have experience with and enjoy working with people that are struggling to manage and regulate their emotions. Often times difficulties with emotion management can affect our relationships and overall happiness with life. With the right support we can learn to improve communication, improve boundaries and navigate relationships that are important to us.

Depression, Anxiety, Stress:

Many circumstances in life can be so overwhelming and lead to depression and anxiety. I work with clients to develop coping skills as well as identifying and addressing specific causes of their symptoms.

Healing from trauma including domestic violence and PTSD:

It is my honor to work with survivors of trauma including domestic violence and adults with a history of child abuse. My goal is to work with survivors in facing what once sought to destroy and turn it around to empower them to succeed.

Parenting Struggles including child welfare involvement:

Parenting is the most important job we can have but it is also the most challenging! Sometimes therapy can help parents to identify how to have a better relationship with their children. Oftentimes improving communication, developing a greater understanding of our child’s needs, learning how to set limits and improving skills for our own emotional regulation can have a great impact in our parenting ability and relationship with our children.

I have experience supporting clients that are involved with the child welfare system for a variety of reasons.

A specific area of parenting that I specialize in is supporting mothers that are parenting children that have been physically, emotionally or sexually abused by someone that we thought we could trust. Learning how to support your child’s healing, learning to spot the red flags of offenders and possibly coming to terms with our own trauma this can create or trigger, are all important areas to help you, help your child.
