You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.

Some facts about me: I’m a 25-year transplant to Oregon, and feel so fortunate to live in such a beautiful state! Previously, I studied and worked in Northern Virginia and Washington, DC. I have a BS in Languages from Georgetown University (1986). I obtained my MSW from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Social Work in 1990.

My career in social work has been varied, from working with geriatric patients in a hospital to working at non-profit agencies as a case manager, bilingual therapist and Mental Health Department Manager. I have worked with a broad range of age groups: from Head Start children and their families to Seniors.

I am bilingual in Spanish & English. It has been my privilege to work with people from different backgrounds including immigrants and refugees, at times serving as a cultural bridge, resource facilitator and therapist.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Clinical Supervisor through the Oregon Board of Social Work. I offer individual therapy to young adults to adults 95+ in English and in Spanish. I also prepare assessments for immigration purposes. I am deeply committed to engaging and working with each individual in a way which promotes their health as a whole person: body, mind and spirit.

My therapeutic practice model is eclectic. I draw from various psychodynamic theories and practice modalities including Family Systems; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; Stages of Psychosocial Development; Communication and Narrative therapy & Mindfulness. In therapy, I believe it is essential to maintain an awareness of the complex mind-body connection that is part of our anatomy, as well as the unique responses to our environment be they physical, spiritual and emotional which shape how we interact with others. Different disciplines and research in neuroscience and medicine contribute to my understanding of human nature and the brain. Ultimately, my approach is person centered, trauma informed, and attuned to culture, whether in a broader sense or in terms of particular family dynamics.
